Olivine Or Peridot Scarf

Olivine has been discovered in meteorites, on the Moon and Mars, and, perhaps more surprisingly, is the most common mineral in Earth's subsurface.

But it weathers quickly on the surface, so has been proposed as a good candidate for sequestering carbon dioxide as part of climate change mitigation.

Although Olivine has many historical uses in metalworking processes, today it is marketed as the ideal rock for sauna stoves as well as for jewellery when it is sometimes called Peridot, the French word for olivine.
